Let’s talk about history, culture, and revitalization of these favorite South Denver neighborhoods at about Yale and Broadway. The initial development of this area began in the 1860’s. Construction increased after the South Broadway electric rail line was complete in 1889 which connected these neighborhoods to Downtown Denver.
Development peaked from 1920 through 1950, and this thriving community showcased one and two story masonry commercial buildings that were constructed to house bars, restaurants, meeting houses, theaters, and more. Thankfully, several of these building are still in use today maintaining the historic charm we love, and new businesses have moved into them.
Neighbors who raised families here still anchor this community while new neighbors are moving in to get a taste of the good life because it has become quite the hotspot for vibrant, city living. Warm camaraderie, festive social events, and people-taking-care-of-people (and pets!) define its blocks. And Denver’s light rail still connects it to downtown.
A big shoutout to those at the heart of this community. I truly love and appreciate your spirit and creative drive. Whether you're shopping, dining, or just exploring, you'll find plenty to love on South Broadway. Come see for yourself why it's such a great place to live!
